Coachella – you will forever have my heart ♡
My 1st year at Coachella was filled with lots of glitter, good music, dancing, no sleep, and unforgettable memories!
Festivals are a place where all your inner thoughts + feelings can be expressed through what you wear; You can experience, freedom, truth, and connection with everyone around you; And most of all – You live in the present moment.
Most humans are never fully present in the now, because consciously they believe that the next moment must be more important than this one, but not here – You are fully sharing this moment with thousands of people who want to feel the euphoria of Coachella with you.
If you haven’t experienced the magic before, make it not just a goal, but a plan to go next year! Even though this year fucking ROCKED – theres a few things that I know now that will make next year 10x better!
BUYING YOUR FIRST COACHELLA TICKET
Purchase your ticket the day they go on sale! They always sell out before the end of the day! (You can always buy them through a 3rd party, but usually more expensive).
HOTEL
Book your hotel or Airbnb as soon as you buy your Coachella ticket! Everything within 30 minutes of the festival books out fast (trust me, I learned the hard way)!
CAMERA
They don’t allow DSLR cameras into the festival, so take pictures of your outfits before! You can capture those desert vibes all around the city!
For those of you who have asked, I used my iPhone all weekend!
WHAT TO WEAR
Plan outfits that are both cute + comfortable!
Do not wear something heavy on your head
Do not wear uncomfortable shoes – I got blisters from my boots the first day! I had to wrap my feet and wear tennis shoes the following 2 days.
Do bring a bandana or scarf to cover your face! It gets so dusty walking to and from parking – I was congested for a few days after from all the dirt that I breathed in!
Do bring a backpack! You are there all day! It was nice not having to worry about my wallet, extra snacks, a water bottle, and whatever essentials I needed! Be prepared so you can go hard all weekend long! If you don’t want to wear a backpack, make sure to rent a locker when you get your ticket! They sell out weeks before the festival!
OTHER ESSENTIALS TO PACK
- Pack a tapestry or beach blanket to sit on throughout the day – You WILL want to sit at some point, especially to eat! You can get a one here
- Portable battery pack
- Sunglasses
- Sunblock
DEFINE A MEETING SPOT
Phone service is pretty much non-existent! Create a meeting spot with your crew! Sometimes texts won’t be received hours after it was sent, so when you send a text, make it extremely specific! For example, “Meet me at 8:00 in front of the Ferris wheel”.
DOWNLOAD THE APP
Pick your lineup schedule and activate your wristband BEFORE you get there! My husband didn’t activate his wristband before we left and had no service or Wifi until we got to our Airbnb!
EXPLORE
Go explore the entire festival! There’s so many hidden gems I found up until the last day I was there!
